    Default Night Blooming Epiphyllum

    Attached Images Attached Images

One of my night blooming epiphyllums (epiphyllum strictum) These bloom from about 11pm to just after sunrise, are 8 inches or so in diameter and have a very faint soapy/citrus scent.

Off camera flash, topaz adjust, topaz clean

This will be my last post for a while. I'm headed to Yellowstone for two weeks of bliss

Beautiful night bloomer, Maureen. Nice exposure, great pattern, like the glow to it. Wish the center structures were a bit more defined, but nicely done. You are so lucky to be going to Yellowstone! Hope you have a great time and share some great images when you get back. Enjoy!

    Hey Maureen,
I like how this floats in the frame! This is a beautiful flower and I just wonder if you can eek out some more depth in the center? Have a great time in Yellowsone!

Thanks Brendan and Roman. Here is a repost with a touch of usm and without topaz clean, which I think is at least part of the problem (the other part likely being, as my dear Dad used to say "a loose nut on the handle".)

Are the shadows from sun or flash? Or, same quesiton: was this created in the dark. Have a great trip.

Nice work, Maureen. I like the white against the black BG, and the yellow accent adds a nice touch. I notice a little grainess in the petals which I might try to remove. Have a great trip!

    Thanks for the comments.

Artie - This was created in the dark. Shadows are from the flash.

Thanks for the good trip wishes
