This is either a young male or a female.
    Taken at Rondeau, Ont.
One branch was removed from the right, running parallel then crossing the remaining OOF branch.
The eye was brigtened and sharpened extra.
    Thanks for looking.

    Hi Karl:

You have a nice bird here, with a great BG and nice pose. The light looks a tad harsh and the whites on the wing a bit hot in this JPG version. I see that the focus appears good on the tail and the head but not as much on the wing. I feel this would be a more pleasing image without the branch on the right. You did a great job working on the eye.

Good points from Marina, and Im seeing both the head and tail are in good focus, but the wing section soft. Maybe Ive had a long day at work. Killer colour of the BG, and before reading Marina's points, I would also remove the stick on the RHS.

    Thanks Marina, Thanks Stuart.
Here is the improved version. I removed the branch from the right and selectively sharpened the mid section of the bird. I have no idea as to why it was less sharp.
If I remember correct, I sharpened the whole picture and then I might have applied selective noise reduction to the background, using Imagenomix NP plug in, but I'm not sure. The master file was originally processed about five weeks ago.

Good one, Karl. I like the fanned tail, and the colors and bg are lovely. I'm guessing this is a female rather than a juvi -- the juvi's are paler. I have a very similar shot of a female from last week -- I know it was a female because she was tending her nest -- although yours has a little more color on the head and neck.
