    Hi Ian:

I am for the most part a bird photographer, so my eye isn't that good with wildlife but here goes.

It looks as though this seal is leaning against another and I like that, as well as the way you have formed a design with your composition. All the "war wounds" really add interest in the FG seal. I love the way the sun appears to be setting in the seal's eye. I think I wish for a tad more sharpening on the seal's head but not absolutely sure about that.

Thank you, Marina and Harshad. I'll try a bit more sharpening and crop it in a bit tighter and see how it looks.

Marina has summed it up beautifully. I also like the diagonal lines and creative composition, well conceived and captured. Love the light in the eye.

great light in the eye and close-up composition using lines and texture. Could work well as a B&W study too Ian!

I like the way you framed this, Ian. Good lines, shapes, and soft light make for a very tasteful composition. Wonderfully expressive eyes. Nicely done!

Ian - I too like the comp and the lines of this, simple but it has a certain elegantness. Agree about the sharpening.

    Rachel
