    Dear All

    Photographed this magnificent bird in Sri Lanka ,

    This is Sri Lanka Junglefowl ( Gallus lafayetii ) separate species than what we see in India , The red Junglefowl ( Gallus gallus ) , Please note yellow patch in comb

    D300, 300/F4 at F4 , ISO 400 , 1/200
    All C & C are most welcome

    Harshad, thanks for helping me appreciate that the junglefowl is a handsome bird, not to be taken for granted just because the domesticated version is a dime a dozen. Good details all around.

    Harshad, excellent head turn, colors and comp.

    Why f/4 for a headshot? BG too close? I'd have increased ISO and stopped down for better DOF.

    KD ,
    300/F4 of Nikon is non-VR lens and I never believed in ISO capability of D300 beyond 400 , As now I have 200-400/F4 VR and D3 , I may give better try in Sept 2011

    Of course , D700 , D3 ( which I have used ) I never bothered till ISO 4000 , Have a look in wildlife , Posted Serval Cat at ISO 3200
