    Default African Spoonbill Argument

Captured this interaction this afternoon at our local duck pond. I love the quality of last light in winter on the South African Highveld.

I do wish our spoonbills were as beautifully coloured as the American "Roseates"!
I wish for cleaner perches but this island is filled with willows upon which hundreds of birds perch/roost and inevitably defacate during the year .

    Techs:
    Canon 7D with 300mm f2.8 L IS USM + 1.4xTC-II (420mm)
    f7.1 @ 1/2000 SS @ ISO-800
    Slight crop from all sides.

    Hello Morkel,

I do not see the photo. Can you have a look if it is attached?

    Cheers,

    Now I see it. Strange.

Love the action captured and the magic light. Yes, perch is busy, but this is the habitat of the birds. Looks like you are having fun with the 7D. Nice capture.

Beautiful light in this image. Love the interaction captured. Busy perch , but it is where they live. Nice composition as well.

Beautifully framed and you captured the peak of the action. Love the raised wings of the right-hand bird but wish that its head were turned a bit more toward us.

Killer light and action/behavior here. I think your perches work just fine. I really like the raised foot.
