Nikon D3... 200-400.... 1/3200s at F5.6.... -0.3EV Handheld. I was not sure on composition, tried a central comp in the end. Add canvas on the right hand side. Made a mistake with title, it's Juv Goshawk

BTW, with D3S I find that dynamic area AF with 9-point exapnsion and lock-on set to short nails shots like this one! give it a try.

Thanks Arash, normally use the D3s with 9-points but set on normal, will give lock-on short a try

Now I know how must feels a poor animal when this bird puts its eye on. Impresive pose. It seem to me that the face isn't in perfect focus, maybe using Unsharp Mask you could improve the image.

Spectacular pose with focus problem noted above. In addition image quality looks poor as if the original were underexposed and then lightened too much..... Thus the funky look to the shaded areas below.

Hi Vivaldo, good headon capture, and I like eye contact. That BG is a killer. Focus problem mentioned.
