    Lots of fun to watch the young shore bird chicks explore their new territories. They remind me of little children who feel the need to check out everything they see.

    Hi Joe,

    I like the idea of including the sand hill and the footprints as part of the composition, and you obviously got down to the birds' level, but to me there are a few issues - I think it would look better if the separation between foreground and background were higher or lower (rule of thirds, although I hate that expression) . Some of the grasses and bits of tree between the birds make it hard to sort out what's what, and to me the birds and the foreground sand look over-sharpened. Hope you don't mind these comments.

    Joe, I agree about them being like children, they are sorta.

    I cannot get enough of the new families at the park.

    I agree with Richard, I feel there is too much sand dune in the image and the sticks between the birds really get in the way.

    With that said this is a wonderful moment captured and the pose the one on the right is giving you is terrific!
