Hi Harshad
Nice to witness such a huge herd!!
but I am afraid as an image it does not speak to me!
Too much going on, no real focal point/foreground interest to lead eye into image. Not sure what aperture you used but it seems a lack of sharpness thru out the scene. I am assuming HH , a lot of shutter speed.
As good as you may feel the D3 iso capabilities are (and they are good..) But when possible you should try keep iso as low as possible. If you want to to print big that is when you will see the difference . That has been my experience over the last two years with this camera.![]()
Nice wide scenic shot, Harshad. I like the vibrant color on this, but wish some of the elephants were closer so we could see them more clearly.

When you say "Serengeti" I think - flat wide grassy savannah plains. At least that's the way it is on TV !!
Tom
seems to be several dust spots on the image...
Nice wide vista Harshad with beautiful sky, the shadow in the FG is a little distracting.
Harshad - I've really enjoyed the way you've been experimenting and altering your shots on your recent trips. On this one unfortunately I have to agree with Peter. The elephants are too small and somewhat muddled with the trees (too much going on). I also feel there is too much sky though the colors are vivid and beautiful. Don't you dare stop shooting elephants.
TFS,
Rachel
Seems like you haven't been close enough to a Kruger bull in musth, that's going to get you VERY excited...to get away from it!
I like the idea and the way you seem to have been experimenting...though I agree with Peter. Having one elephant closer with more of the focus on it would have worked well.
Harshad, please do not stop taking elephant pics...with your talent that would be a waste of good opportunities for sure..![]()
I like the idea . I would crop out the lone ellie on the left and the dark blue sky on left.
