    Default River Otter

Red Bluff Bay, Inside Passage- Alaska May 2011.

My first posting for some while now as my recent return from cruising the Inside Passage- Alaska & Yosemite NP trip resulted in a hospitalisation of 2 weeks with a severe bout of pneumonia.
Photography wise, the trip was not hugely successful, as a result of the US North West's worst spring for many a year. I think we encountered only 4 out of 25 days that were clear.
A fabulous time was still had regardless with some truly magical scenery.
Here taken from the MV Explorer's zodiac is a river otter foraging around it's natural habitat.

Welcome back Marc, hope you are back to normal now. Nice environmental image to start with. I'm wondering if there isn't the slightest hint of movement?

A warm welcome back Marc. Sorry to hear you were unwell during your trip, especially being so far away, trust you are on the mend now.

Great to see these guys foraging along the shore line and can be quite elusive so nice one. Good to see you pushing the ISO here. Just wonder if a 'slight' crop might just tighten things up and give more emphasis to the Otter?

Nice capture, Marc and like the inclusion of habitat. Agree with Steve on tightening it up some to emphasize otter more.

Marc - welcome back and sorry to hear about the pneumonia. Hope you are well on your way to a full recovery. Trust you enjoyed the ASC experience even if the wildlife and weather wasn't what you had hoped. Nice to see a river otter in habitat. Agree with the suggestions for a crop to place more emphasis on the otter.

    TFS,
    Rachel
