Managed to sneak up on these Whimbrels
Couldnt decide whether to clone out second left bird?
Went for pano again as I think it suits the scene well

A nice collection here. The pano corp looks fine on the rock, though I'm the amateurish of amateurs when it comes to photography.
edit: Just noted after posting, that there are some differences in bill length. Would this be due to the sex of the birds? Sorry, I"m not up on Whimbrels, but I do remember reading that the females of most shorebirds do have a slightly longer bill then the males.

Richard, I like this composition. You got the middle bird's angle very good...which is so important here.....and you have two others with good head turns. Good call on f-stop and pano crop. The OOF rock in LLC is a distraction. If mine, I'd crop that. I find the WB a little too reddish. The left most bird can use a little sharpening.
Richard, I like the WB in the repost more. The rock has become more overpowering though. I'd crop from bottom and add some room at top to reduce the impact of the rock. These are personal preferences...so what works for one may not work for others.
Hi Richard,
My preference is for the original WB, as it looks like early morning or late evening light, and the slightly more horizontal crop as in the 2nd re-post. I wonder if it would work as a sillhouette?
