    Wish lower angle was possible.

What a lovely capture of this pair. Love the 2 together and the light is very pleasing with spot on exposure. Composition seems to work well and colors blue is a great backdrop for these birds. You must be pretty pleased with this one.

Yes, pleased is the right word. I was waiting for eye contact between the two birds and was lucky to get both eyes of one of them. Shooting angle a little too high for my taste..but I was already as low as possible.

Love the soft light and the seeming interaction. I wonder if they were grabbing the same shrimp.... I am thinking that this could go a tad brighter....

Nice image with sweet light, maybe a little more sharpening.

    Kaustubh:

Lovely, soft feel to this image, almost intimate feeling, even if they are grabbing the same shrimp!

Yes to self critique about lower angle, but it would have worsened the merge between the two birds, so take it as is.

    Cheers

I can't but echo the comments above. Yet another solid piece of work from you, Kaus. I was wondering, are you lowering the temperature a tad while processing? In my recent shots from the mudflats (see link in signature), I found that lowering the temperature a bit created a cool blue hue on the water.

very nice Kaustubh, you had a productive time at the baylands. Given the lights the colors are a bit muted on my screen, the Avocet orange feathers are usually well saturated

Nice interaction captured here, Kaus. Love how the blue water complements the birds' colors.

Craig, thx. I have set the white balance by clicking and not by color temp. That must have cooled it. I like water to be blue in my images.

Arash, I hear what you are saying and its probably also because of the WB. I dont want to lose the blueness in the water...I'll try increasing the saturation of the orange....very good point. But before I do that, I'll revisit the WB.
