That is one interesting looking bird and what a dark head - great trouble getting detail in that.

I would suggest more exposure here - anytime the bird is going over you you need to add light (1 to 2 stops more) to compensate for the fact the underside is in shade. Here the bird is at an angle to you and the light so more exposure would have blown out the whites in the shoulder. Perhaps fill-flash?

Your other option is when they fly right over you and you can't see the sunlite side of the bird, then more exposure works perfect.

    Nice wing position.

Very cool looking bird you have here Sameer. I love your BG and you have nice wing positions and good angle. Agree with Robert on a little more exposure to bring out more details in the blacks. I think in this lighting situation it would have helped.

Samir, nice bird, good wing position and I liked your composition. Tricky to expose because of the bright shoulder. I think you can do some curves work to brighten the midtones without blowing the bright white and this will be much better. With D300 and iso200, I dont think a lot of noise will be introduced if you do that.

Default Thank you Robert Amoruso, Marina Scarr and Kaustubh

Yes Robert, Black-necked Stork is very interesting bird. As far as I know, less than 100 left in India. Very impressive and shy bird. Some images of this bird is in collection of Arkive - Wildscreen

I think you all are right, I could have given more exposure, but might not got time to adjust. :-|
So nice of you Marina for appreciating about wing position and BG. Sky always comes out blue in this region as it is coastal area. And I have darken the sky slightly!
Thanks Kaustubh for nice words about composition. Sure could have done curves.
    Have a nice time!
    Sam
