Noelle, I like the image design and the blurred grass background. These little ones are so cute. Nice pose with the stick. I'm not a fan of the OOF stick that is coming at us but I would leave it in if it were mine. Nice job on this one.

I do not believe that all the extra space around the chick enhances the center of interest (the chick and stick). Though I do find the BG and grasses pleasing, I feel a crop is in order and suggest using a ROT with the chick in the right side vertical 1/3rd. Maintain the crop to the left edge and take some off top and bottom.
If you are OK with cloning, I would remove the OOF stick coming out of the image.
For those not familiar with the acronym, OC is Oyster Catcher.
I love the soft feel to this one with the soft green BG and the sand FG. The whispy grasses really work and the chick pops with the red on its bill and the nice catchlight. The composition here does not work for me. I wish for less space on the right and more on the left. However, if you don't have it, I would try a crop off the right, bottom and a tad off the top. This crop might better showcase your fluffball which is nicely exposd and sharp. I am ambivalent on the stick but would probably leave if it were mine.
You must have felt very blessed to have had the opportunity to witness this chick in action!
What a moment and loved the super low angle. pose, BG, exposure are all very nice. I like the idea of the empty space.
I also think the bird needs to be to the right of the center line...but without knowing what is there on the left side, hard to say how the resulting image would look.
There is something that really appeals to me in this image...Not sure what...Like the space and the colors...I would maybe just take a touch off the bottom!
