excellent interaction and a nice BG, some whites seem too bright on my screen, I wish the beautiful mom was as sharp as the chick. Great shot overall

An impressive behaviour and action shot!! Agree with Arash regarding the whites and sharpness. No problem with the bird being centered but I feel it is a bit big in the frame.

In addition to the comments above, I would recommend a looser crop if you have the room. The adult bird feels very tight in the current cropping.

    Hi Giovanni,

A superb action shot, which would indeed be even better with a sharper adult and a less tight crop.

no problem I have space and I can leave more space..
For the adult you think more sharper ?
For my normal use it is very hight...
for the white of the adult no problem in raw file I have detail and could avoid to less them
    Thanks for your notice...

I'd love to see this with more room all around. Spectacular wing position and raised crest. Some selective sharpening of the face should help.

Richard basically took the words out of my mouth.

In addition, I'd like to know your ISO and other settings. With the Mark IV, I think you could have set the ISO high enough to have frozen the parent. To me, this is a shot both compelling and disappointing. Unless you can somehow sharpen the adult, this shot will largely represent an opportunity missed.

    Hello Craig
    thanks for your notice
    iso 1000
    1/1000 f.2,8
Off course I could use more iso ..but for me the adult isn't moved (ok as said Arthur for more sharp...) it could be a little out of the focus.
As I wrote in the blog I had some problems.
I was in a hide about 13 mt from the nest using a tripod .
I had very few time to shoot and the problem is which af setting use .
If I use servo mode (I have Canon) and central point the camera haven't time to fix the right starter point...
Using one shoot it is better because the adult, normally , come to the nest at the same distance of the baby so I can take the focus on the baby and then put the central point (or all 45 point focus ?) in the space that the adult will use.
(ask your pardon for my bad english)
So could be possible a little out of focus because the focus...is fixed before in a different point...
If you have some notice for better I will be happy because I hope to try other photos in the next week end (if baby isn't go on...)
    Ciao
