Default Two King Eider's (Adult and Sub Adult Males)

    Canon MKIII
    500mm
    hand held
    1/1600
    F9
    ISO400

Removed two gulls from background and blurred it a bit more as well.

It is rare to see one King Eider in NJ but two see two is a double treat!

I really loved the interaction I caught with this pair of males on the beach.

Pretty amazing find. Where? You did relatively well with the light from the left. The merge is unfortunate. Could you have gotten even lower? (I am not a big fan of all of those shells.)

Sharp with a perfect EXP and just about enough d-o-f. Were you focused on the right hand bird?

Artie, I wished I had gotten lower but creeping up on these when this all happened just did not make it possible.

These were taken at Sandy Hook a few weeks ago. Chad and I went back a few times and they have since moved on.

    Thanks you!!

WoW! I have never seen this bird IRL. I love the head position but would have killed for a bit more separation so that the beak of the left bird was not crossing into other birds feathers. Still a wondderful opportunity that you did very well with.
    Akeeper for sure,

    Noelle,

Definitely a good find and you capitalized well on the opportunity. I would agree with Artie's points on bettering the image had the opportunity presented itself. Great moment captured.
