I love this picture because the seaweed caught around his foot reminds me of someone who has toilet paper caught on their shoe!! He also has a little seashell on his toe.

Loverly image. Sweet light, a perfect pose, perfect head angle, killer low angle, nice water droplets, raised foot with seaweed, and a tiny clam clamped on a toe. Whew, this is a good one. Welcome.

Here is a tip from Digital Basics that will improve this one (as good as it is). The REDs are a bit on the over-saturated enamel side: try adding 60-90 points of CYAN (or possibly a bit less) to the REDs in Selective Color; you will be amazed.

Excellent OC.......looks like he is married, isn't that a ball and chain?

I also love the lighting and reflection.

    Artie,
I have been diligently reading every word on my copy of Digital Basics. Problem is, my 30 day trial is up with CS5 and I ordered the program yesterday. As soon as I get the disc I will do as you recommend.

Love this Gail - the trials of life for a Oystercatcher. Reds are a bit oversaturated for me. Love the low angle.

Great shot, Gail. Beautiful light, nice angle great details. The seaweed and the clam on the foot is a plus.
My first impression was also that Artie mentioned about the beak; too red that is.

Ah, those discounts can be substantial! I will look for your repost. By the way, the light in your image makes it a winner in my book and your image stands on its own.

    Thanks Artie,
Your kind words mean a lot! I will remember them, if I get discouraged, as I climb the steep (mountain) learning curve that is Photoshop!

Stunning work, Gail! Look forward to seeing your desaturated edit of this wonderful photo. I didn't even know it was a clam until Artie pointed that out. Nice capture!
