    While photographing the burrow some Black birds in the field made a warning cry and took off which put all of the Owlets in the burrow with the parents looking up scanning the sky. After about a minute or two the parents went running for the burrow as a Coopers Hawk dive bomb it with the black birds on his tail.

    1D MKIII, 500 f/4, 1/1250 at f/7.1, Aperture Priority, Evaluative Metered +1, ISO 400, Tripod, Small Crop and Cloned out a few distracting pieces of grass

    I'm sure that was quite the sight to observe. I can see the fear in this owl's eyes!! I'd prefer the subject to be more at left of the frame rather than at right (or perhaps centered but cropped as a vertical), and here is a case where getting a little higher (to see the feet) would have been better.

    I really like burrowing owls and this one is a terrific image. Their expressions are always priceless.

    He sure does look scared :eek:

    This is a terrific image, Done. Love the pose and the clean bg. Wish the feet were visible.
    I would probably have gone vertical if this were mine. Love this image. TFS.
