    Default An Awkward Pose

RWB in a wing stretch in the normal habitat, but I have never seen them do this.
He wasn't taking off or landing, just stretching.

That is a great view of the RWB's wing! As Peter points out, a head turn this way as it stretched would have been awesome. Just a tad dark IMO, and I'd tame the blues in the plumage (go to Hue/Saturation in PS, and desaturate the blue channel only completely). The dry branches close to the face are a bit distracting.

The male Red-winged blackbirds seem to stretch out their wings a lot. Especially when they are calling and displaying in their territory. I see them do it all the time. The wing is nice and sharp, but I would like to see the head a little sharper and turned more towards the camera. I agree the dead foliage behind his head is a little distracting.
