    Hi Ian, looks like you have good detail on the bird despite that bright BG which I find a bit harsh but I am not a big fan of high key which some folks seem to love. I like the cocked head looking back. The perch does not do much for me but is a place you would naturally see this species.

    Agree with Allens comments. I would definitely darken it. Right now I think it gives an impression of being washed-out.

    Hi Ian, definitely a bit overexposed on this one. It is easy to do in this kind of light. I like the basic capture and look-back pose. I had a go at it because I think it is worth saving. I'm sure you can do a better job than this really quick one I did... Used levels and moved the center slider to the right quite a bit to lower the midtones. Hue/saturation was used to bring out some color, did a light round of USM, and did some gardening in the lower right.

    Thanks, all. I'm doing this on my laptop as I travel, so I need to play with this when I get back home. I think your repost, Kerry, is a definite improvement.
