An over-wintering Bar-tailed Godwit working the beach.

full frame but with a slice taken off the right and a corresponding amount added to the left to give the bird a bit more room to move into
minimal PP (levels, curves, sharpen - as per Artie's Digital Basics)

Excellent stuff Leo, well done getting so close to these guys. Single birds especially can be tough.
My preference would have been to have the bird a little smaller in the frame but that is personal preference and only a very minor nit.
Look forward to seeing you on the new look feathersandphotos forum tomorrow as well (if the upgrade is complete by then).

I like the striding pose and great eye contact. Nice even light. Maybe a slight CW rotation.

Leo, Interesting image with the nice walking pose of the bird and pretty background. I suspect that you may be able to get a little more detail in the light parts of the bird. I have been using the adjustment brush in Lightroom set to exposure for tasks such as this and am pleased with the results.

I like the striding pose and view of that up-turned bill.

I love the pose, the low angle and the setting.
    Beautiful image. TFS.
