Default Family Group Photo. Critique Please

    Name: Family Group Photo.jpg
Views: 94
Size: 181.9 KB This was taken in May 2009 at North Chagrin Metro Park, Cleveland, Ohio and before I got my first DSLR. The camera was a Sony DSC H5 with 1 12x optical zoom and a 1.7x screw on telephoto extender. As with many avian group pics I had to wait quite a while till this family assumed this pose and managed one shot.

    All C&C appreciated.

Morris, so you're finding Canada Geese too. I love these group shots and know how difficult they are. I personally like your water color. My suggestion would be to brighten up the eyes of the adults and to take a bit off the bottom.

Love the family shots too. I would probably open up the scene a tad, kind of tight IMP - but composition is subjective. Really like the colors and the low angle is sweet.

Hi Jeff, Thanks for the comments. I will go back and try and find the original and make it a bit wider. I think I cropped to get a custom 11 x 14 print.

Hi Morris- Well done on this one. I real challenge in group shots like this is to get goo eye contact in all the birds. You almost have this! Agree that some detail in the right hand adult's face would be good. In general it would be helpful to see a bigger version of the image. Limits on BPN are up to 1024 wide x up to 800 high, and less than 200kb in size. Agree with taking some off the bottom- the reflection is not strong enough to warrant keeping in in the image.

    Hi John,

Thanks for the comments...I will do another crop to remove some of the bottom reflection and see how it looks.

    Morris
