Here is another infrared shot - PP a little it differently. Some noise present in the shot - but just nature of the beast for this type of work.

Once again taken on the river were I live.

    Thanks for looking

It is a very captivating image indeed. What I am curious about is what are we actually looking at technically. How was it created and what sort of PP was used.

Shot was captured on a converted D1 (Fulltime infrared), it was then taken into PS and the red and blue channels reversed with a action, saturation and hue adjusted to give the final result. Infrared staright out of the camera is basically a red image - iy needs the channels reversed in P.S to give it the traditional infrared look.

Very nice compo, Lance, and of course, the infra-red make it special. I definitely need to convert my D200 ;)

Thank you Lance. Which conversion filter did you land on? Looks like I might have a use for that 20D of mine after all.

Hi - take a look at www.lifepixel.com you will find heaps of information there, I just went with the standard infrared filter.

    Hi Lance,

A really appealing composition made all the more compelling with the IR rendering of this scene.

This is really beautiful! I love that it lets some of the color remain - it really give it a "pop" factor.

Are you using Adobe PS? What tools did you use in PS to to switch the colors around?
