    Hi Guys,

Went out today to look for this Red-throated Diver wich is a rare species for our country and visits us only in wintertime.
Had some very harsh light and tried to make the best of it when the bird came up at this shiny white patch of water.

    Greetings,

    Jeroen Stel

Very unusual look to this one, going +1 2/3 nailed it, good work.

A well executed high-key image works well, and this is one of them. Very well done! I'd only suggest to put a thin black border around the photo for easier seperation between image/forum BG (at least for web presentation).

Like Daniel, I like a well-done high key like this, and agree on the border. I really enjoy the minimalist look of these kinds of images. Excellent exposure, with the level of detail in the eye/face being especially effective. Good call on the EC to get the effect you were looking for.

    Jeroen,

FANTASTIC shot! The high-key really works here to place our focus squarely on the subject, and the colors of the little one remind me of a duo-tone. Well done.

Very nice and simple with nothing to distract.

I'm a big fan of high key shots. This is really nice, especially when you consider your shutter speed.
