Many nests were filled with newly hatched chicks in a Lousiana swamp this morning. The egrets just building their nests now are forced to build very near the road. This one landed with his twig twenty feet from me. I couldn't include his feet. Does this crop work?

The original crop does not work because the tail is clipped... EXP good but the bird's head is turned slightly away...

Was this at Lake Martin? (I think not...)

Thanks for the response Gary and Artie. Actually, I do have the tail and it's quite beautiful, only the feet are missing. I liked the detail of this one so much I was hoping it would override the other problems. Thanks for pointing out the head angle.
Not in Lake Martin. I haven't been back there in a couple of weeks but the birds were very far from the road then. This is a swamp nearer Baton Rouge. There are also several small rookeries near Lafayette where the spoonbills are settling in nicely.

Beautiful picture, nice details and settings. I don't think there is an easy way to crop this picture...

As mentioned exposure looks good. I like Gary's crop. Nice looking bird and good sharpness.

Thanks for the info Gayle. If you have the tail, why not included and cut the legs between one of the joints? Could you post the full frame?
