Taken in late afternoon light. Seemed like the parents were giving the youngsters a little snack before bedtime.

There is not too much detail in the soft down feathers.

Lovely moment, Joe. Great light, nice pose, and I like the wind-blown grass bg. The fuzzy chick looks OK to me (given, as you say, that its fuzzy), but maybe just a tiny touch of USM on its head might help. The uppermost segment of white on the adult is blown and could be fixed with a selective linear burn. I'm torn as to whether the plant on the right helps balance to comp, or draws the eye from the birds. But those are nits; I wish it were mine. (Is this Nickerson?)

Joe, Sweet light and sweet interaction, I agree w/ Bill regarding that little bit of white. I like the image design with the greenery, just a couple of repeats at the bottom. Nicely captured.
