    Default Allium Bud

I added a Fractalius effect to this Allium Bud that I captured at Chanticleer Gardens. I liked the texture that the grass in the BG added.

Denise, the softer side of macro works really nicely here. I also like the texture and flow of the background. I might sharpen that one little complete flower in the center. Very nice!

I like the subtle Fractalius effect here, not overdone. Nice soft background with great coloring.
You didn't show your camera settings.....the DOF is really nice. Nice tilt of the stem and angle of the bud.

Very nice composition with the tilt of the stem. I like the background and the subtle fract effects.

    Nice image and application, Denise.

The one leaf, off the bottom of the bud, or the grass blades in the back that appear to form a leaf, seem a little distracting. Not too much, but that is what first caught my eye. Maybe tone it down a little or let it be and call it your vision! YIYV after all.

You are doing some lovely work using fractilus on flowers. The position of this Allium and it's being partly open add interest. There is something going on around the edge of the Allium that is bothering me--a bit of softness? I would like more separation between the flower and the bg.

Thanks folks, I appreciate the comments.
Jay, I almost never post my exif for manipulated images but this was shot using an f/6.3.
Anita, The filter has produced a slight outline/halo effect which I don't mind but it may not be for you. If you wanted you could mask it out very easily.

Beautiful composition, Denise. Love the soft color effect. The macro itself is super.

Denise, love the use of Fractalius with the soft focus macro. Very beautiful comp. Kerry makes a good suggestions with regards to sharpening the one tiny blossom.
