    I think this is my best picture to date. But unfortunately being a new birder I have no idea what it is. Can someone help me out. Also let me know what you think of the photograph!

    Nice detail, the picture is very sharp and the BG is great. I wish a better heat angle in the bird...

    Hi Cody. I think this is a female Brewer's Blackbird. the bill shape, eye color and plumage lead me to that conclusion. The fact that you probably captured this in the Pacific Northwest doesn't hurt either!

    Yep that looks correct. Especially when I see pictures of the Male of this species as well...I have some pictures of the males and didn't know what they were either...thanks a lot

    Cody, please make sure you post the camera, lens, ss, iso and f-stop. That helps us in critiquing. Excellent sharpness, soft light, exposure and BG. Agree with Humberto that a little head turn towards you would have really helped. There is a lot of space above that is not adding much...if mine, I'd take some off the top.

    I actually did recrop it after I posted this to flickr yesterday and didn't republish. So I completely agree and it has been done haha Thanks for the advice guys.

    Pleanty sharp this !! If you could crop the space above a bit , would improve the compo a lot .
