This was a very busy little elephant, the youngest in a small herd at Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. Taken early morning, but after the first golden light and faded away.

    Almost full crop.

Lovely pose and good IQ. A bit tight in the frame for my taste though.

Very nice Hilary, like the higher angle taken, cute factor and IQ. TFS

I like the pose, textures and overall IQ here Hilary...
For me a tad tight at the bottom but no deal-breaker. I would tone down the reds slightly though...
Is that a road in the BG?

I would agree with Morkel - more room in the FG and bottom would have been ideal but he was on the move and you were zooming out fast so you got him in w/o clipping, way to go.

The big ears really make the image for me.

Thank you for the feedback everyone, much appreciated.

Morkel, it is a road in the background but I hoped that it wouldn't be too intrusive as it has some of the dry grass obscuring it. I know that the Laikipia elephants and country can appear 'red' but it really does look like that and I did tone it down from the raw file to allow for general perception. I would be reluctant to change it more as it would then no longer reflect the reality of that region, in my view. But thanks anyway.

Excellent posture and details, Hilary. You have captured the essence of this energetic little one well. Agree with Robert with regard to those ears!
BTW, I love the landscape tapestries, and wild textures series on your site.

Lovely textures and detail Hilary. The flared ears and posture so typical of young Ellies, well captured. Nice to be so close.

Good capture here. The space nit has already been touched on.

Thanks John, I've reworked some to refine the textures and will update them soon.

Hilary, I am late to this one, and it has all been said, but I do like the tones, and the ears are great...you did well to get one with a little space around it..pp work looks pretty good too.

All been said I think Hilary, can't add much more, trust you weren't tempted in taking him/her home with you.

Thanks Steve, yes this feisty calf entertained us for quite a while challenging older calves and teenagers, charging the vehicle and playing silly games. May he make old bones.
