Beautiful light and colours! Excellent IQ, eye contact and pose. Not crazy about the square presentation. Would prefer to see this as a horizontal if you got enough on the right.
Here is a repost to show what I mean.

I know what you mean Ofer,my first intended post of this squirrel, was with more room on the left, but I thought it was not right,I like your repost of this shot, but it puts the squirrel in the centre, but I think your crop looks better than mine.thanks for comments.

Hi Chris and welcome to the Wildlife section.

I like the strong diagonal created by the tree and it's a good platform/perch for the grey which adds interest to the comp, were you tempting him with peanuts? I also quite like have interest in the FG, juxtapose to the more defused BG. Once again, I am viewing on the laptop so colours might be slightly off, but I wonder although this is in 'nice morning light' if it's a little too saturated and therefore a slight reduction in both Saturation & the Red channel may help? Also perhaps a little more selective sharpening on the eye, as the body & tail look spot on, not sure where the focus point was sighted, easy to find in DPP.

Prefer the Reds to the Greys, fair game in the garden as they eat me out of house & home with bird food.

BTW Is this the same tree/log as the nuthatch was on, just recognise the moss.

    TFS

Certainly adding more to the LHS works better, would leave the RHS as presented.

Ofer in your repost, pane 2, it appears you have extended canvas on both sides. I feel that the space to the right in the OP from tail to RH edge is fine, but if Chris has image to the LHS, then if he recrops taking into account your suggestion, the composition would be better, ie making it more rectangular.

Thanks Steve, is this what you had in mind?

    Yep, cheers Ofer.

Sorry Chris, sometimes its easier to just do it, than explain. May I suggest in your OP, next time if you could say as to wether this is FF, or cropped (obviously in this case it was cropped) as these little bits do help in feedback. Hopefully with Ofers suggestion you can perhaps revisit your original file and make some amendments?

    cheers

Hi Christopher, lovely subject and setting. Great morning light and good detail. Agree with more room in front of the Squirrel.

Hi Christopher! Nice to see you posting here...
Certainly some sweet light and great colours here, with the diagonal adding as mentioned.

Good to see the options presented above, though I agree if you have space to the viewer's LHS it would be good to include some more of that when reworking the image, as shown in Ofer's second repost.

thanks everybody for comments and sugestions,Steve,I was taking photos of the nuthatch, when this squirrel apeared on another tree ,about 20ft away,I too prefer red squirrels, our native squirrel here in the UK,grey are imports, tree rats,as some of us call them, the greys have over the years, have been wiping our reds out.In some areas in the UK,if they are threatening the reds there is a cull on greys.hope this answer as not bored you.thanks again everybody.

Hi Christopher, yep the Reds take some beating, I tend to do mine up in Scotland. The greys are being a pain on one of my sites eating all the food so I may need to take action on this.

BTW I too am based in the UK, have seen you elsewhere though.
