Nice composition, Steve. My preference is still the earlier version. Here the roadrunner is getting a bit lost in the bg. May be lightening it or reducing the effect may help.

Pretty cool looking character, nicely done .. agree a bit with Indranil about background...but a job well done, maybe its the B & W, wonder what it would look like using the split toning effect....it might separate the bird and background

Steve, I really liked the color version, you did a nice job w/ the conversion. Good suggestions above.

It is interesting that there is a suggestion to tone down the background since I have already done that. YOu should have seen how strong the background was before.
Also, when I open this or any post, the post is at the bottom and not the top. Is there any way to make sure I see the image first instead of comments?
I like the B&W better alone instead of the colors showing through. Either all color, or all B&W., but that is a personal choice.

Hi Steve, I like the color on b&w version but something happened to the color portion. It looks like a separate layer that got shifted in the process somehow. The offset is especially noticeable in the eye.

I think that you can put the image above the text by using "insert image" from the menu bar above the posting window (it's one of the buttons) instead of "manage attachments". I haven't tried this myself, but I do see posts where people have text both above and below the image so I think that is how it is done. When you post the image as an attachment, it will always be at the bottom of the post.
