Its been a while since i have had time to post an image and now that its spring there is time to get out a little bit more. We have had lots of rain out here in the PNW, the grass is growing and the weeds are just every where. Its a macro paradise around the house. This is one of the dandelion that looked promising.

    Hey Susan,
We've had so much rain here in NJ that I was starting to think I was living in the PNW! Comp wise I am a bit distracted by the whiter hot spots....not the circles but the rectangular shapes in the 1:30 position. I also feel the cetral area of the dandelion could use a bit more light...reflector whould fit the bill. This is a bit of an unusual take on the dandelion and I do think with a bit of tweaking...this one could work very nicely!

Hi Susan, I like the way you positioned the flower in the frame. I do wish for a bit more DOF. It would have been nice if some of the Dandylions seed "parachutes" would have been sharp in focus. It's nice to see that shy start of spring reflected in your image!

I like this image, Susan. The DOF is fine as is for me, although a sharper (or even all-sharp) version would certainly also work well. A little cloning (or quick masking) work could take care of the two rectangular areas Roman mentioned. You may also want to consider cropping from the left, perhaps to that vertical open green area in UL so that the dark center fills LL corner.

Hi Susan. This is an interesting and different take on a dandylion portrait and I like the off-center comp. There are some good suggestions above for you to consider - I like Roman's thoughts about the white rectangles and a brighter center. In addition, I would wish that the OOF white "blob" in the LLC wasn't there and that the parachute in the LRC wasn't touching the edge of the frame. You might also try a little extra sharpening on the flower center to really give our eye something to lock onto.

I find the comp and idea interesting and I would like more DOF...or maybe less...
