One more dramatic view from Yosemite... El Capitan (on the left) was completely covered by moving fog and cloud. I waited for the cloud to clear and took the shot when the monolith opened up just a bit. Settings were at 1/80sec, f/14, ISO 200 and used a graduated ND. For the processing used s/h on the sky and adjusted for the selective colors, applied topaz detail and simplify in different layers with varying opacity to get the final image. Hope you like it...

Very nice, I think it should go in the Landscape section though.
It is very good and the processing is so subtle, it doesn't look OOTB to me.

Thanks Dan... if I use too many filters, I typically keep it on OOTB.

The scene is beautiful, Indranil. I love the subtle processing you used and especially like the way the clouds opened just a bit for you. Really lovely work.

New to the forum. Can anyone tell me what OOTB is? I do like the photo. I feel like the clouds will part any second revealing what they are hiding. Nice.

    Indranil,

This is a beauty. Love the peak look at El Capitan. Nice subtle filtering.

Did you consider a Polarizer for the water reflections? It might have been an interesting variation to lessen the reflections off the water in favor of highlighting the cloud.................

The light was fairly low and I was more concerned on the sky and tried different ND grads instead. Polarizer would have helped on the water and agree it could have been an interesting option... well, next time

I have had some luck stacking a Cooke GD/ND filter over a circular polarizer.......a bit tricky to set up right, but something to consider...............

You really captured the scenic vista shrouded in fog perfectly! Very nice processing Indranil.

Very nice image and application, Indranil

Reminds me of being there ... Another trip that needs to be repeated while I still can!

Very nice - it draws me in and makes me feel like I'm in a boat on the water looking at this spectacular scene.

I like the peek-a-view look at El Capitan, the waterfall on the right, and especially the painterly look. Moving just five yards to your left to open up some room between the waterfall and the skinny tree just below it might have been a good option..... I do not think that it would have hurt the positioning of El Capitan much.....

Hi Artie, thanks a lot. Appreciate your feedback. I did try but an uprooted tree blocked the water level view that I was trying (attached). I could have gone higher for an alternate view. I was so focused on the moving cloud, I did not realize the tree in front of the falls till later. I made few more images but then those were not as dramatic as this one.

Indranil, this is processed beautifully. Love the treatment. Agree with Arthur on the tree. I wonder if it might worth evicting?

Indranil, I really like this one. The processing is applied perfectly. I also think that the reflections add some character to the water. Nice job matching the filters to the image.

Really like the look and mood Indranil! Very subtle processing but it works very well IMO!
