canon 300 f4 + 2x converter

Any thoughts on this combination? will auto focus with only pros camera? any older pros cameras , thankyou

Brian,

It certainly works with a 1D Mark II. But you'll get more detail and more pixels on a subject with a 7D and 300 + 1.4x TC. About 30% more pixels with the 7D, measuring linearly. The blur filter on the 7D is a better design, so I would bet the linear resolution would be more than 30% better. And the 7D has higher system efficiency, so better signal-to-noise.

Yes, the 300 f/4 is great for close focus.
