Default Rose-breasted Grosbeak against blooming apple tree, version 2.0

Same individual against the same tree serving as a backdrop, but a different perch (from same branch) and pose. I think I may like this one even more even if the "rose breast" is hidden!

Canon 30D + 100-400L @370mm, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/250s., f/6.3, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, FF. Again, a nasty lime-green cast on the white belly from the grass below was negated in post.

This one is excellent as well....on all counts, BG, sharpness, pose, subject placement, exposure, perch...and perfect DOF.

A real beauty Daniel! I like the BG in this one more and the IQ is top notch as usual. The pose and perch are interesting. I can't find a perch like that down here but will have to look again.

Beautiful, Daniel. I like that the red isn't showing as it would clash with the pink. Shows how pretty they are from the topside.

Excellent exposure on the blacks Dan, and I like your comp here. Overall the image is sharp, and the colourfull BG adds so much to the image.

That's the one! I would consider cloning the vertical part of the perch just to see if it shows the bird off more effectively.

    Very nice one Daniel!
Love that BG and the alert pose of the bird. Great to see that this is the FF.
