    From Cielito Sur, Cerro Punta

Four males hung around while I was there but they had chosen dense undergrowth to hide in.
Luckily you sometimes see them in a small window in the foliage and I managed to get some shots. I really love these; and although I had seen females in Costa Rica, I had not seen a male

It's pretty remarkable to think you photographed this species in Panama, and I did too up here in Canada...bird migration is incredible!!

I like the image for the palm vegetation - something we don't associate with this species. Too bad about the small OOF leaf in front of the tail, and there is a bit of a blue cast to the plumage. Comp just a bit tight, but I like it overall.

    Hi

Yes it certainly is. The birds in Panama were making ready for the journey back to North America - mind boggling for sure.

Checking around the image black areas return only aa 2 point spread indicating black is pretty stable and no cast.

Edited - I noticed the blue figure where one would think white is indeed I tried several methods on it, none worked:eek: I wonder if you know another way? Tried auto color, color balance, average blur and color picker, first time one has failed to correct but I dont think it is a "cast", it may be from white balance or the true color of the plumage. I will run the raw again and change WB to see what happens.

maybe like OMO blue is whiter!.

As for the leaf .........theresalmost always one lol

    thanks for your comment

Hi Richard, in this case since I simply desaturated the blue channel in Hue/-Saturation. Since there is no blue anywhere else in the image I did not even have to select the subject and applied this to the whole image without affecting the surroundings. Did the trick in 3 seconds
