Trying to make the most out of the very difficult shooting conditions at the St. Augustine A. Farm. Not easy to find the ideal "clean" BG so shots which include the habitat are the norm here. best bet is to try and use the vegitation as framing elements. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.:2 You be the judge.

Joe, the most important parts of the heron are in the open, so that works for me. I like the angled pose, and not sure if you have blurred the LHS of the BG, but it helps to bring out more of the heron. Maybe a tad more room at the bottom if you have.

This is a tough one, Joe. I like the vegetation, the bird's pose, the composition and the colors. The bird appears a tad too cramped in the frame and possibly the feathers a bit over sharpened. What gives me pause for thought here are the way a portion of the bird's legs are showing and obviously cut off.

I am sorry that I couldn't rave about this one.

Agree with Marina here. Plus it is oversaturated.
