This is another image from my backyard setup. I like the matching pollen on the beak. All C&Cs are welcome and appreciated.

Great light and eye contact. I think I like the perch as much as the Oriole...almost.
Lovely light and the perch is killer it adds a lot of character to the image.

Jim,
I'm not a huge lover of set ups but this is a fabulous shot! You handled the dynamic range perfectly and the perch is awesome but not too awesome as to look set uppy. Well done.

Wonderful bird, pose, and head angle. Not to mention background. As well as a nice image design. I am glad that the stuff on the bill is pollen not orange pulp or skin :).
I will, however, need to be odd man out on the perch. I like the shape but it is too dark and too large a diameter. If I have birds this nice coming in to my feeders I would be spend days in the woods looking for perches with character....

Wonderful image Jim! Colours and details look great. I like the perch, but do see what Artie means. I'd eliminate the small blue dot on the eye next to the catchlight (at 3 o'clock). Searching for perches in the woods is actually quite fun...
I think this perch is loaded with character with its twisty architecture and I would have stopped searching when I found it!

I like the matching beak and breast colour.
This is a terrific capture, Jim. You have great details here. How lucky you were to have the pollen matching the bird. You image is tack sharp and for me, the perch matches the photograph. Yes, it's possible that this picture could be put over the top with an even better perch, but this one works.
Congrats on this one.
Beautiful & technically spot on! BG complements bird. DR is well managed. Perch is interesting.
Thanks everyone for the comments. I was switching the perches up a couple of times a day over the week they were coming in non stop. There will be more images with different perches posted soon.
WOW!! you handled those yellows well...Great BG and totally agree with the complimentary colors of the pollen on the beak and the colors of the bird...I think the perch has plenty character!
Excellent image,Nice light and love the perch...Jim.
Simply lovely, all of it!!
Cheers, Jay

Jim, super pose on an interesting perch. Striking yellows on the Oriole, and you have brought out the blacks on the head very well. Overall, nice and sharp too.
Sharp and a super pose, lovely colours and excellent detail

Excellent Jim, great perch plus BG. I ESP like the dark BKGD and fantastic IQ. I would love to have some of these beautiful birds in my garden.![]()
Bg makes this one special....and the yellow pollen as well. Loved the subject placement....however, if mine, I'd take a tad off from the bottom...just above your watermark....and add a tad at the top.
