    Default Bronzed Cowbird in Display

    Bronzed Cowbird

Workshop: Laguna Seca Ranch, South Texas.

    D3, 600, ISO 400, f8, 1/400.

This was taken from our last workshop in the Texas Rio-Grande Valley. Bronzed Cowbirds fluff up their collars as a display to attract a female. As the bird faced us, the wind came from behind and provided this unique view of this very cool bird. He never attracted a female, but he did catch our attention :-)

Alan, very nice image design as usual...and yes to unique look. Head-on works very well with the red eyes. Excellent sharpness, BG, exposure and balance in the comp.

    Beautifully presented as always Alan.
The white spot near the eye could be cloned out and would you have preferred the bird a little to the left or right on the perch clear of that little cluster of foliage?

Hey Leo, Never saw the white spot. Good catch. I'm not unhappy with where he landed as the leaves are not covering up too much. Thanks.

Veery cool pose Alan, the dark Cowbird really contrast nicely with the BG and the red eyes really hold the viewers attention.

Very nice! I like the straight-on pose. Didn't notice the white spot at first as I was enjoying the image as a whole.

Super shot, Alan. I always love to see something a little different and you caught it here.

I like the BG and the perch really balances the comp well (Also an interesting looking perch)...And the bird display is very cool.
