Default Painted bunting and a gust of wind

The curve of the body and wing was my favorite at the windy Texas ranch. The perch blends into the body and the wind ruffled neck make this one of my favorites from the trip.
See what it evolved into in the OOB forum. Still a bird on a stick, but a **** of a bird on a neat stick with great background, so I am happy.

Steve, as you say, this is heck of a bird on an interesting stick. Beautiful BG and I love this shot. Well done. Something that I struggle with on digital photos is that sometimes, edges of objects appear too sharp. Did you do much edge sharpening on this? A minor quibble and more of a question for my benefit as I am learning, than a criticism. Again, congrats on an incredible shot.

We had fun with all those Painted Buntings. You did well here Steve. I do wish it had some eye contact.

    Alan,
I thought about that also, but this one was the only one with the wind blown neck feathers and I wanted the wind effect at the expense of the slightly more turned head. I think this is more interesting.

    Beautiful composition Steve.
Great bird, pose and perch. The head angle would have added icing to an already attractive cake.

Superb shot. Great colors, great detail, and the perch is wonderful. The head angle does not bother me as we can still see the eye. Well done.

I found a group today but they just would not come out and play. One of these days I guess.
