A first sighting of this beautiful animal for us, it is nothing like an African Wild Dog, although under discussion they are not considered to be related. Unfortunately our sighting was in extremely bad light, shade and extremely bright areas. The crop here was determined by the glaring upper portions of the original.

Taken in Kanha National Park, India, 2nd May 2011

    Ken,

You handled very tough light conditions very well. Nice image.

Nicely exposed considering the light conditions Ken. Good looking animal.

an animal I would also still like to see in the wild

I think the pano crop works here Ken (at least for me). Pose is nice and exposure well handled. I am thinking a toning down of the overly bright area top left and some very slight shadow recovery on the dhole (especially head/face) might improve the presentation here.
