    I posted one of these earlier and Alfred wanted one with the head separated from the lilly pad. The mouth isn't quite as open as in the previous........but I do think the separation improves it. Canon 1D Mark 3 and the Sigma 300-800mm at 501 and ISO 800 at f9 and 1/1000 sec.

    Cool moment captured. I like the setting and the fish adds to it. The bird looks a bit oversharpened on my monitor.

    Very cool image, Roman! Great action, perfect head angle, nice light, prime breeding colors. Agree about the oversharpening - especially around the eye.

    I find the darker leaf above the bill distracting, but very nice image. Great timing, and I like the half submerged body!

    You can't beat that sort of timing for sure! Nice sharp eye too. I'm undecided on the vegetation.

    The lilly pads are fine with me ,thats where he finds his little prey. Great timing.
