Hi Phil, nice to see a familiar face.

I like the action of the Gannet landing with wings acting like a parachute to slow the bird down and positioning in the frame. There is some nice wing detail and the whites are held well, easy to blow in those conditions & location, especially having that dark sea behind you. Just wonder if the image might look better with the highlights in the sea toned down a fraction?

Am I right in my thinking, this is past the two vantage points and past the 'what was' collapsing fence where you perch like the birds with just the drop in front?

Hi Steve yes but they have put up a new two stage platform which is great, I thought about getting rid of the highlights in the sea but I don't like to do any cloning if possible in my images daft I know.

Lovely image. Beautiful wing position. Great exposure and interaction. I love the twig in the sitting bird's beak -- is this a gift, or nesting material? In a perfect world the landing bird's head might be tilted a fraction up, so we could see his eye better.
