    Default Black-capped Chickadee

While waiting impatiently for any semblance of Spring to arrive here in the north country, I have been keeping busy trying to photograph winter birds at a feeder/perch setup at my home. Chickadees, as anyone who has photographed them can attest, are a bit of a challenge because they never seem to sit still for more than 1/4 of a second. This one cooperated for about that long. :) 40D, 500 f/4 + 1.4X, 1/250, f/8, ISO 400. Comments are welcome.

Great pose, details and BG. I might give it a tad more space.

Nicely done Steve. I too have been feeding and getting shots of these little missiles. They don't sit still is an understatement! Agree with just a tad more in front of bird. Details are superb as well as the bg.

Agree about the space, and I'd be tempted to extract more detail in the whites (burn tool should work well here). Great photo of a friendly bird (and reliable company in the winter months!!).
