    Default Not Another Florida Bird

I've still got a bunch of images from Costa Rica that I've yet to post, so I thought I'd get out of my Florida rut and revisit Central America. This is a Brown-Hooded Parrot from my most recent workshop. We'll be returning to this incredible location on this year's trip.

Fantastic use of flash!!! Would work nicely as a tight vertical as the left half of the image doesn't add much IMHO.

Sweet, Doug! I really like the BG and the lighter area being behind the bird! Nice perch and the framing is about perfect!

Doug, nice shot...looks like it was slowly moving to the lower part of the branch.

Doug, superb colors, exp., subject and comp. I like how you got the bird in front of the green. I realize the light was not with you but stopping down a tad wud have been better. I know you dont mind shooting at higher ISO.

Beautiful capture! I prefer the original landscape framing... Makes me wonder what the bird is looking at.

A very colourful parrot Doug, must have the full colour spectrum covered I prefer your OP, as I like the way he's looking down the line of the perch, together with the space. Love the moss covered perch too.
