Lovely pose, sharp, excellent detail and exposure control. Bird is a bit big in the frame for my taste. Since this is a setup maybe you can try a more inetersting perch.

Nice inquisitive pose, good techs and perfectly sharpened for web. Although I'm OK with the perch, I do agree the subject is a bit large in the frame.

Beautiful detail, nice light and great exposure. And I like the inquisitive pose. Might consider shifting him just a bit left in the frame, with a little more room on the right.

Sharp with beautiful detail, an inquisitive pose, and a nice BKGR. I am with Bill; taking some off the left would help.

Love the detail in the feet on this little guy, do not often see that. Good job.

What a shot....the pose makes this one special. sharpness, exp, dof are all excellent. I like Bill's crop suggestion. In addition, adding a tad on top will also help and address Ofer and Daniel's points about bird-big-in-frame.

Thank you all for the feedback...I was questioning the position of the Goldfinch in the frame so I was looking forward to what others thought about it....I guess I was too worried about keeping his head un-centered.

Here is another version following the much appreciated suggestions.

I don't worry about the perches I use too much...I'd rather concentrate on the bird on it than the perch plus this perch is used for Hummingbirds but this Goldfinch decided to sit here for a bit instead.

I like the repost better. I like the pose, perch and BG. Well done Duane!
