    Canon 1D MKIV, 300mm f/2.4, 1.4TC,
    f/8.0, 1/1000, ISO 800

    In ACR - increased exposure, recovery 8, fill light 7, clarity +12, vibrance +13,
    sharpening 51, noise reduction 39
    In PS - cropped, cloned out a horizontal line on shore at top and resized.

    Taken last March at Bosque del Apache NM at dawn a few minutes prior to the cranes launch to start it's northern migration.

    Terrific pose, wing spread and head angle. Beautiful soft light. It's good that the whole bird including head fall below the distant shoreline. My initial reaction was that the bird might benefit from a touch more contrast; but that might tend to negate the feeling of the lovely soft dawn light.

    Hi Joe, I know that light and that's exactly what it looks like. Very nice job. Love the feather detail and the warm light of dawn. It is quite an experience when they all take to the sky at the first ray of light. I'll be going back there in November, yay!
