    Default Old Fargo Truck

Hi all, back from a few days up north to open the family cottage for another season. Noticed on the way up there was a "new" old truck sitting in a field near a sand-pit not too far from the cottage. Started raining so I drove over for a few shots. Processed this one using Topaz Adjust 4 with the psychedelic preset. Applied a heavy handed use to create this HDR-look. I would have preferred to be in close with my 12-24mm lens, but due to persistent rain chose to use my 80-400. The big lens hood keeps rain off the front element. I'll use the 12-24mm lens next time.

    Look forward to comments.

Hi Andrew, I like the way you handled the filter bringing out all the detail in the truck. Good placement within the frame leaving more room in the front and just enough base. Another way to view the image is to crop it into a pano excluding the greenery on top....

Andrew, I like the composition and Dave makes a good suggestion regarding an alternate crop. Neat processing. I gotta go find one of these old trucks! Love the green color tone of the truck too.

I think the truck looks great, color and detail, and placement but the background is a little too detailed for my taste. I agree with Dave about trying a pano crop.

Excellent use of the Psychedelic filter. I've never been able to use that one. Love the color of the truck. I like the green at the top as it frames the image along with the green grass at the bottom. I also like the curving line at the top of the sand pit. I think that toning down the amount of detail in the sand and trees would diminish them as distractions and focus attention on the truck. As it is, my eye is pulled to the bg.

Thanks all for the comments. Much appreciated. I shot several various comps so I will try one of the comps without the trees at the top and reduce the effect on the background in a couple of days.

Dave pano idea is great, next time I will actually shoot a series to stitch into a pano.

Hi Andrew, I'm like Anita - never have found an image to use the psychedelic preset with. You found a good one! I like the processing and all the detail in the image. I've been scrolling my browser window up and down and I can appreciate this image both ways. I like the pano crop but the original gives it a sense of place...

    Hey Andrew,
I love what grunge does to these old trucks! I do like Dave's alternate crop too....so nice luxury to have! Very nicely done!
