Another one from my short visit to Palo Alto Baylands last week. Good thing there is one can get clean-bue-water-BG shots as well as habitat-BG shots.

Hi Kaustubh, Another fine image I really like the dirty raised foot and BG is just enough OOF as not to be a distraction but define enough to give a nice sense habitat

Hi Kaustubh. Looks like the bird is walking in a tar pit. This wetland must have some very sticky black mud on the bottom. You captured an interesting pose with a perfect head angle and a nice low shooting angle. The sharpness and exposure are excellent. I might suggest toning down and/or blurring the one vertical background stem slightly in front of the bird's beak, but it's a minor point. Well done.

Agree with Steve- the only distraction in the background is the verticle blade in front of the beak. Does it need some CCW rotation? I love everything else. nicely done!

You have captured amazing details in this gorgeous creature. The light and angle are awesome. Like the raised dirty foot. The habitat pleases me although I have to agree with Steve on toning down that vertical grass just a tad. It is distracting in relation to the rest of the image. Agree on a tad of rotation but difficult to detect.

very nice Kaustubh, you got a nice low angle in habitat with very nice light and details, I don't think the image needs any rotation but I agree with de-emphasizing the weed.

Lovely angle , and sweet light here . The vertical grass blade does distract a bit , but overall the quality of the image is awesome .

    Kaustubh:

Lovely capture, interest added by muddy foot, nice amount of detail in background. Agree about slight tweak on the one bright blade of grass. Enjoy the mix of colors in BG and water, matching some of the browns in the bird.

    Excellent shooting angle.

    Cheers
