Initially when I looked at this image I kind of wanted to see full adult but after looking at it quite a few times I am liking this comp.

I thought the same as Sid when I first looked at this image and wanted to see at least the adults eye but its grown on me as is. Nicely done Ken.

    Sid and Jamie,

I really had little choice as to the way it is cropped, I was trying to get a "clear" image of the youngster which I have in another shot. But I thought this approach may provoke some comment and debate

I am happy that you liked it.

I looked at this yesterday Ken and still have not decided. I feel that I can accept the cropping at the top but what continues to bother me is the loss of the virtual feet at the bottom. More room there in my estimation would have been good.

    Robert,

You make an interesting pont, I am certain that the bottom of the mothers foot would be there if you could see it, there is definitely all of the yougsters rearmost foot, but as to the nearest I cannot be totally certain. Whilst the grass is normally quite long in Kaziringa this area was relatively a lot shorter.

Hi Ken , nice composition and sharp detail. Like the framing with the mothers trunk. I also believe a little more room below would enhance the image.

I also quite like the way you framed the little one with mom's trunk in front and head at the top
I agree with Robert on the space at the bottom though, as it's specifically the foot nearest the the bottom RHS corner that seems to extend at least to the very edge of the frame if not further...
