Removed single leaf and tiny piece of stem. I have an edit that doesn't contain any cloning but this is how I wished the photo was SOTC.

These are one of my absolute favourite species after Fairy-wrens of course They are often heard but not seen deep on long grass but if your patient every so often the little(9-11.5cm) bird will pop up onto a high(often in the clear) stem of grass and survey their surroundings. They have an unmistakable wheezy call. This is non-breeding plumage.

    Chris:

A pugnacious pose, sharp, like the stripes on head, well exposed.

If the IQ will tolerate, I could see several cropping options, including a vertical and a horizontal version cropped a little tighter all the way around, esp. above.

I might very lightly paint over the brightest spots in the background to even them out a bit.

    Cheers

Such good feather detail. Lovely bird and image. I like the space here but understand where Randy is coming from re cropping options too.

Your patience really paid of. Great pose, with great detail. The perch is great along with a superb background. I agree on the crop maybe a vertical crop? Other than that well done.

I like the composition and the front-on pose shows the head stripes nicely.
